Avocado smørrebrød recipe

Inspired in Copenhagen… I tasted something similar in Atelier September and fell in love with it!

Makes 2-3 sandwiches

Preparation time: 10 minutes


  • 1 medium-sized avocado
  • German rye bread
  • chives, chopped
  • lemon zest
  • d’espelette pepper
  • salt flakes


  1. Cut the avocado into two halves, remove the pit.
  2. Peel the skin.
  3. Cut the halves into 1mm slices.
  4. Put them on the bread.
  5. Sprinkle with chives, salt, pepper and lemon zest.
