ESOL-Trinity-describing-pictures-Entry1
These are the additional tasks that can be used when practising describing pictures:
- To introduce new vocabulary: print the pictures on A4 and ask the students to make a list of useful words/phrases.
- Reverse it! Give students cards with sentences describing actions. Ask the student to make poses. You can take pictures as long as your students give their consent (available to download here).
- To practice accuracy: write a short description of a picture and do the running dictation task (rules here). Once the text is copied, ask students to draw a picture according to the description.
- For formative assessment: ask students to record or video themselves when describing a photo. When plan peer assessment, explain what constructive feedback is beforehand ;-).
Enjoy!
